Arab Lake @ km 1.0
The Slide Lake loop trail is the longest and most rugged trail in Frontenac Provincial Park. It was Thanksgiving morning and I had no plans until later that night, so I decided to go on a hike. A few weeks prior, I had done a couple hikes in Gatineau park and had been eyeing this one. It took about 2 hours to drive down from Ottawa. I paid for my parking pass then parked at Arab Lake.
This is a beautiful trail. I chose to hike it in a counterclockwise direction but there wasn’t a reason for this. The most challenging part of the loop is the distance – 24 km. There’s also a little bit of elevation change and a few tricky spots where you need to use trees to pull yourself up. There are tons of views of beautiful lakes.

Doe Lake @ km 3.1
Like most trails in Ontario, they are best hiked during the fall before the leaves have fallen. The pictures are absolutely stunning! I’ve included most of the photos on Google My Maps because of the geo tagging.
